CAIR Welcomes Defeat of Virginia Anti-Boycott Bill as Victory for Free Speech
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed the defeat of Virginia’s anti-boycott bill HB 1161, a measure that would have violated the First Amendment rights of state contractors and their employees by requiring them to sign contracts with a provision banning boycotts of Israel.
